Non-Consensual Involvement Prevention and Response Controls

How Sovrin prevents, detects, contains, and responds to profiles or intimate content created or shared without consent.

Effective 17 July 2026

Consent is required. Profiles created without the depicted person’s consent, stolen or impersonating profiles, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual deepfakes, sextortion, and unauthorized recording or distribution of private communications are prohibited.

Key points

  • Account control, an 18+ gate, required onboarding, and policy acceptance reduce anonymous or incomplete profile creation.
  • Profile photos require a detectable face and uploaded profile/gallery media enters automated safety and human-review workflows.
  • Members have confidential structured reports for non-consensual content, impersonation, catfishing, stolen media, harassment, and child-safety concerns.
  • Reports enter access-controlled staff queues; content or accounts can be hidden, removed, restricted, suspended, or banned after review.
  • Reporters are never asked to download or email suspected intimate or illegal imagery; appeals and restoration are available where appropriate.

1. Prohibited non-consensual involvement

  • Creating or maintaining a profile for another person without that person’s authorization, including impersonation, catfishing, stolen photos, fabricated endorsements, or deceptively presented synthetic media.
  • Uploading, requesting, threatening to disclose, selling, or distributing intimate imagery without every legally required consent, including revenge pornography, voyeuristic material, sexual deepfakes, hidden-camera content, and sextortion.
  • Recording or distributing private messages, calls, personal information, location, or other private material without authorization or a lawful basis.
  • Coercing, threatening, manipulating, or deceiving a person into appearing in a profile, conversation, image, video, meeting, sexual activity, commercial arrangement, or public disclosure.

2. Preventive account and profile controls

Registration requires control of an email/password credential or configured Google or Apple provider account, confirmation of age 18+, and acceptance of the Terms and safety rules. Dating functionality remains gated until the server validates required onboarding information and media records.

These controls reduce anonymous and incomplete profile creation but do not prove civil identity or guarantee that every uploaded image was submitted with consent. Sovrin therefore combines prevention with reporting, blocking, staff review, enforcement, and appeals.

3. Media and automated safety controls

Profile photos must contain a detectable face. Profile, cover, and gallery media enters Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch review for adult, racy, and violent content. Likely or very-likely violations are rejected, possible results enter human review, and production classifier unavailability enters review rather than approval.

Automated classifiers are triage signals and can miss violations or produce false positives. They do not establish consent, ownership, identity, or whether an image is illegal. Final enforcement decisions use reports and human review.

4. Reporting and immediate containment

Authenticated members can report profiles, individual photos, and individual chat messages through in-product controls. Server-validated reasons include impersonation, fake profile, catfishing, scam, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, illegal activity, CSAM or child exploitation, non-consensual content, harassment, inappropriate photos, underage status, and other violations. Optional details allow the reporter to explain the concern.

Reporting a profile also blocks it from the reporter and prevents further contact. A depicted person, rights holder, representative, or other reporter who cannot use the in-app control may contact support@sovrin.co or use https://sovrin.co/contact and identify the profile or content URL without attaching suspected intimate or illegal imagery.

5. Staff review and enforcement

Reports enter access-controlled profile, photo, or message queues for authorized Sovrin trust-and-safety administrators. Reviewers consider the reported item, reason and details, account and media history, timestamps, prior reports, moderation results, and available technical records while limiting access to what is needed for the decision.

Available actions include hiding or removing content, rejecting media, preventing contact, warning or restricting an account, terminating sessions, revoking access tokens, suspending or banning an account, preserving relevant evidence, and escalating through an appropriate designated safety or legal channel. Automated signals are not treated as final criminal findings.

6. Evidence handling, safety escalation, and appeals

Sovrin does not ask a reporter to download, forward, or email suspected intimate or illegal imagery. Authorized staff preserve relevant identifiers, timestamps, reports, technical context, and enforcement history without unnecessary duplication. Immediate danger, child exploitation, trafficking, or credible threats may be escalated through an appropriate emergency or designated reporting channel.

A person affected by a mistaken removal or restriction may appeal through support@sovrin.co. A successful appeal results in restoration where technically and legally appropriate. Information may be withheld when disclosure could endanger a person, expose confidential reporting data, reveal abuse-detection methods, or interfere with a safety or legal matter.
